Does anyone know of one or a dress rental place in Portland?

Thank you.

I had been looking for a shop of that type and had my husband call around to some of them in the East County/SE Portland Area and he said the salespeople were snobby to him...., so if you hear of one let me know.  I had wanted to make my wedding gown into keepsake items but it may be too much detail work involved to tear it apart for that purpose (I got married Sept.25, 2004 so no worries about the tear word, LOL!)........anyway; it would be nice if such shop opened up and had availability or willing to take a chance on selling a wedding gown, we were told to list it on Ebay and No Way am I doing that again, Nope No Way, Nada Ebay Nada!!!

Hey Sofey, where did you buy your dress?

Sofey saw rentals ($200, poor condition) where she bought her wedding dress. There's a bridal consignment store on SE Barbur associated with a large general consignment shop. I can tell you that the consignment shop "Second to None" in Vancouver definitely closed over a year ago even though it shows up in online yellow pages.

Good luck, and let us know what you find!

Thank you for your responses.  Any suggestions on inexpensive invitations other than Gartner Invitation Kits?

Any suggestions on how to get rid of a bridal dress that has been purchased but not worn... without putting it on Ebay????

As we (my family consisting of my now husband, my daughter (yes daughter,  and my son) were riding on the max-train to the zoo tonight, I noticed huge lettering on the side of the building near Skidmore Fountains of a Consignment shop and it looked neat and clean from the view I had!!  I didn't get the name of the shop but it's worth looking into......also, I saw a few 'thrift-shop' types on the main line downtown.  Good luck sweetie!  I had mentioned before that I wanted the 'church ladies' to dwell on the idea of making my gown into keepsake items.......not so sure that will work out now so I'm back to the idea of the consignement or a sale of my dress and I say Ebay is not a good choice and that is my personal opinion of course.

Hope something pans out for ya, feel free to PM me and we can work on this together ok????  Hugs!!!

I bought it in Mesa, Arizona from a shop owned and run by 2 Iranian sisters.  Probably not very convenient for any of you :-)

Thank you Sofey, I'll pass that info onto my fut.step-mother-in-law, she lives near Chandler AZ, where we also might be moving to soon! Her wedding is Jan.17, 2005 and she hasn't got a dress yet......she wants me down there to assist her, How Fun Huh!!

Really, wow. I live in Chandler and would do anything to be able to move back to Oregon.

Maybe you and I will switch, Cynthia Johnson.

Tell her Magic Wand Bridal on Southern across from Fiesta Mall is a great place . . .

I found them because I wanted an Alfred Angelo dress and they were a dealer.  They have all sizes too.

Hello! I have bridal gown purchased through bridal shop in Tallahassee FOR MY DAUGHTER. Dress was ordered from Maggie Sottero, style A447, white, size 10. Wedding was cancelled 1.5 months after dress was ordered and before the dress ever arrived at the bridal shop. Dress never has left the bridal shop nor the bag it is in. Any suggestions on selling it.  HELP MOTHER IN NEED OF SELLING the DRESS TO RECOUP THE MONEY FOR MY EXHUSBAND'S WIFE. Thanks a bunch for any suggestions.

Ebay. Please don't try to sell it here, because the post would have to be deleted. The only reason I left this post up at all is because suggestions were asked for ways to sell the dress.
Thanks
